A Skrull crash lands on Earth, and manages to penetrate the Four Freedoms Plaza, rendering each member of the FF and their friends unconscious. A second Skrull vessel arrives in search of her, and goes to Monster Island. The monsters there were produced from the same deviant gene the Celestials put in the Skrulls, and so that draws them close. The Skrulls use the monsters to attack and draw out their target, but she takes the form of Sue Richards and summons a new Fantastic Four to help, comprised of Spider-Man, Wolverine, Ghost Rider and the Hulk.
